Habitat
The American Black Bear lives all the way between Alaska and the bottom of the USA, their biome is the Decidicous and Boreal forest. They usually live around thick vegetation and abundant sources of food and are usually found in the mountains. If food is scarce they will move towards areas that might have food such as campsites and towns.
The bears need biotic factors in their habitat otherwise they have much greater chances of dying. Without insects, small mammals and plants the bears would not be able to grow or develop, with no energy or calories the bear would slowly pass away.
Abiotic factors in the bears environment depend on are water and air. Without water the bear's wouldn't be able to live for long and would lose part of their diet which is fish. The air allows all things to live and the American Black Bear is no exception.
